2020 Merlot

Our 2020 growing season was warm and dry, allowing us to pick our Merlot grapes at peak ripeness and flavor in early September. After fermenting the crushed grapes in two small open-topped fermenters, we pressed the new wine into French oak barrels for aging in our underground cellars. This vintage highlights the warm growing season, with fresh, ripe fruit flavors and a full, well-balanced finish. We bottled this wine in the summer of 2023 and allowed eight months of bottle age before release in March 2024.

Winemaker notes: An abundance of cranberry, strawberry jam and fig in the nose is followed by cocoa and a hint of brown sugar on the palate. It finishes with precisely balanced acidity and lingering red fruit flavors.
